Career Planning

This section focuses on the following areas.

a) Dealing with Redundancy

  • What to do if you're facing redundancy
  • Coming to terms with the stress and effectively deal with the practicalities
  • Process the negative emotions
  • What am I going to do next (Safe Cross Code approach)
  • Develop a clear understanding of your Life Purpose
  • Come up with a roadmap of actions to move towards a more fulfilling life
  • Remove fears and limiting beliefs that may be getting in the way
  • Develop the confidence you need for future interviews

The chances of it being the “best” thing that ever happened to you will ultimately depend to a large degree on how you handle the situation

b) Professional CV Design

Career and Life Planning focuses on;

  • Understand the recruiting process today and how it works.
  • Get you to design a cv that will accurately reflect what you have done and hopefully, get you noticed quickly by employers
  • Deal with issues that are stopping you from realising your potential

However, having a good CV is just the minimum standard required today to get noticed. The process of getting employed is much more than doing up a cv and emailing it to a company hoping they’ll hire you.

c) Interview Skills & Techniques

This is the most critical piece of the equation in getting a job – how will you convince someone that you are better qualified and suited to this role. This will involve some or all of the following techniques

  • Developing your interview skills
  • Practice / Mock interview (DVD recording service available)
  • Feedback and Analysis
  • Refining your interview techniques
  • Being in control of the process

d) Job Searching Techniques

Career and Life planning has a 10 step process to help you in finding that elusive job. Some or all of these elements are critical in helping you build a successful platform form which you can focus on attaining your goal.

  • Dealing with the personal “stuff” that is holding you back.
  • Plan your strategy for creating a need for your skill-set.
  • Begin to execute it on a regular basis
  • Deal with negative responses positively
  • Be flexible in your approach to opportunities

Just like building a foundation for your house, you’ve got to visualize what the house looks like. From there, you can start planning how to build it. Similar to the job searching process, the plan is critical. Career and Life Planning helps you to design the plan and guides you along the way of realizing it.

e) Career Change & Marketing

“Find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”

Most of us rarely accomplish this and while career and life planning can help with strategies to change jobs a lot of people assume that it is our present employer and role that is wrong. Sometimes this is the case but other times, it is our personal lives that are getting in the way of our professional lives.

In this area, we focus on the underlying issues of why you want to move and explore possibilities. If, at the end of this process you still feel that you want to move on, then we will help identify the steps that you need to take
